Gabi is a 24/7 virtual chatbot assistant for NMSU Global Campus students. You can text Gabi any time – day or night – to get quick answers to your questions, from “How do I apply for scholarships?” to “When does class registration open?”
In addition to responding instantly, Gabi will also check in with you throughout the semester and share timely resources to help you stay informed and on track. Think of Gabi as a friendly guide, here to support your online learning journey and connect you to the tools and people you need.

Frequently Asked Questions About Gabi
When should I expect my first text from Gabi? New students at NMSU Global Campus get a text message introducing Gabi on the first day of classes. Unless you opt out, each semester you’re enrolled in classes, Gabi will contact you once or twice a month offering helpful resources, guidance, and check-ins.
How do I text Gabi? I didn’t save the number! No worries! If you need Gabi’s number, our Academic Technology Team can help you get reconnected. Just email learning@nmsu.edu or call 575-646-5125.
Texting with Gabi is not working. What do I do? First, check that your contact information is up to date and that we have the correct cell phone number. You can do this by logging in to your myNMSU account, navigating to the “My Account” tab at the top of the page, then selecting the “myNMSU Profile” card. Once there, you can easily update your phone number.

When will Gabi text me? Gabi will text you throughout the term with helpful check-ins and reminders. You might get a message about an upcoming class registration deadline, an invitation to share feedback, or a tip for staying on track in your classes. You can opt out or opt back in at any time.
What will Gabi be texting me about? Gabi sends helpful messages related to your success at NMSU Global Campus. This might include reminders about enrollment deadlines, tips for navigating online learning, or links to resources if you’re having a tough time. Every message is designed to support you.
Can anyone access my text messages to Gabi? Only specific staff involved in supporting your education at NMSU Global Campus and specific staff working on Gabi’s technology may access your messages. If Gabi identifies a situation where further assistance is needed, parts of your conversation may be shared with the appropriate staff members whose role it is to support your academic success.
