3 Easy Tips to Help You Complete Your Application to NMSU Global Campus

Use this no-stress guide to help you complete your application to NMSU Global Campus smoothly and successfully.

Applying to college doesn’t have to feel overwhelming — even if you’re balancing work, family, and everything else on your plate. At NMSU Global Campus, the application process is online, takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes, and your first application is free!

In this blog article, we’ve made it easier than ever to get started. Whether you’re diving into college for the first time or picking up where you left off, we’ll walk you through three quick steps to complete your application and keep moving forward. We’ve also included important guidance for international students applying to join our global learning community.

1. Know what type of student you are.

Identifying your student type early helps you understand what admission requirements to expect. If you’re applying to college for the first time, you’re a first-time freshman. If you’ve attended another college or university, you’re a transfer student. And if you’ve attended New Mexico State University before and are coming back, you’re a returning or readmitted student.

We encourage all students to apply! Find the details about admissions requirements for your student type on our Admissions page.

2. Send us your transcripts as soon as possible.

Uploading unofficial transcripts with your application to NMSU Global Campus can help us make an admission decision faster. If you’ve attended multiple colleges or universities, we’ll need transcripts from every school, even if you didn’t finish a class.

Keep in mind that official transcripts are still required. Your official transcripts must be sent directly from each school to us by the end of your first semester at NMSU Global Campus.

If you’re an international student, you can also upload unofficial transcripts in English during the application process. You won’t need to submit official transcripts, translations, or credit evaluations until after you’ve been admitted. Transcripts can be emailed to globaladmissions@nmsu.edu (undergraduate) or globalgradinfo@nmsu.edu (graduate). If you have studied outside the U.S., you may be asked to send your documents to an approved evaluation agency. For full details, please visit our International Students page.

3. Try to provide us with accurate information.

Don’t worry if you’re unsure about a few details — just do your best! Once we receive your official transcripts, we can make any necessary updates to correct your application.
