The Doctor of Nursing Practice is a terminal practice degree for nurses, and NMSU Global Campus offers these professional specialty tracks:
- Family Nurse Practitioner

In this flexible, affordable doctoral program, you’ll have the opportunity to work with interdisciplinary teams to achieve quality healthcare goals and reduce national health disparities. As you engage with emerging science in the application of advanced nursing practice, you’ll develop in-depth leadership roles in addressing complex health problems, learning how to deliver contemporary, cost-effective, and culturally competent healthcare.
Although the coursework for these programs is 100% online, the clinical component consists of over 1,000 contact hours, so be prepared for the time commitment this program requires. The Doctor of Nursing Practice program consists of 26-28 credits for MSN-to-DNP-track students who are advanced-practice registered nurses wishing to earn the terminal clinical degree in nursing. For students without a master’s degree, the program consists of 43-50 credits.
