Program Highlights and Learning Outcomes

New Mexico State University has been providing high-quality nursing education for students since 1972. We also offer such programs as a Doctor of Nursing Practice, four-year pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), an online RN-to-BSN for returning nurses, and a second-degree option for individuals who already have an undergraduate degree in another discipline.

Students pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing Administration at NMSU Global Campus will receive an excellent, well-rounded education in one of the nation’s best online MSN programs!

  • While the nursing administration master’s degree program is fully online, students still have the opportunity to participate in fieldwork with a preceptor to plan, develop and propose implementation of a project.
  • The Skills and Simulation Center in NMSU’s School of Nursing is an important and valuable asset for nursing student development and learning. Students use the labs throughout each semester to learn physical assessment and other hands-on skills.
  • Realistic patient scenarios using manikins and standardized patients have been created by experienced nursing faculty to maximize learning within a safe and supportive environment.
  • Online MSN degree students also have access to library services on campuses as well as to academic assistance from the Graduate Nursing Advisor.
  • MSN nursing program instructors provide highly interactive learning with students via telecommunications, including Zoom.

Students who graduate with an MSN degree can consider advanced study to earn the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at NMSU Global Campus. The DNP prepares individuals to assume advanced nursing practice roles in these focal areas:
