The online Bachelor of Accountancy offers a structured path to developing specialized accounting knowledge supported by a strong business foundation. As concepts build from course to course, you’ll gain confidence working with financial data and understanding how organizations use it to guide decisions.

The online Bachelor of Accountancy program consists of 120 credits. To earn this degree, you need to complete all University degree requirements , which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits, with 48 of those credits in courses numbered 300 or above.
All exams for upper-division accounting courses are taken in a proctored setting. Students can complete exams on the NMSU Las Cruces campus or schedule their proctored exams at a third-party testing center close to where they live.
Students may begin this program in the Fall or Spring semester.

In order to count toward the Bachelor of Accountancy, upper-division transfer courses in accounting
- must have been taken at an institution with AACSB Accounting accreditation; or
- be part of the New Mexico Business Articulation Matrix
Developmental coursework will not count toward the degree requirements and/or elective credits but may be needed in order to take the necessary English and Mathematics coursework.
