The online Master of Engineering in Engineering Management is a coursework-only graduate program designed for engineers who want to expand into leadership roles while maintaining a strong technical foundation. Core classes examine:
- How engineering data is collected, analyzed, and used in management decisions
- How economic analysis informs engineering decisions
- How large-scale engineering systems are modeled, analyzed, and managed
- How people, teams, and organizational structures influence performance
Engineering management students also select an elective course that allows them to deepen their expertise in areas that include:
- Statistical analysis of engineering data

- Financial analysis and accounting principles
- Manufacturing planning and control systems (with particular relevance to the Borderplex region)
The program’s capstone consists of a series of seminars that explore emerging trends and issues in business computer systems, management and administration, and industrial engineering. The online Master of Engineering in Engineering Management requires a minimum of 30 graduate credits. The curriculum consists of 24 credits of required core courses, one elective course (3 credits), and a 3-credit capstone seminar series.
Qualified undergraduate students may participate in the Master’s Accelerated Program (MAP), which allows them to begin graduate coursework during their junior or senior year.
Students may begin this program in the Fall or Spring semester.
