The NMSU Global Campus Criminal Justice degree program is broadly interdisciplinary in nature, embracing the study of the humanities, law, natural, behavioral, and social sciences. The curriculum balances theoretical inquiry with applied knowledge, and students become prepared for future academic and non-academic careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, juvenile workers, victim services, non- and not-for-profit organizations connected with criminal and social justice, and related fields of forensics. NMSU Global Campus graduates gain skills to become successful in graduate programs in the humanities and law school.

About the Department of Criminal Justice

The Department of Criminal Justice was founded in 1962 and is recognized as one of the nation’s best and oldest programs in criminal justice. Our mission is to offer quality experiential learning, faculty-led and diverse research, and interdisciplinary curriculum in undergraduate and graduate educational programming. Here, students develop knowledge and valuable insights that shape and regulate policies in the criminal justice system. The department supports scholarly, experiential, and applied research endeavors and collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, law enforcement, criminal corrections and punishment, justice and law studies, juvenile and social justice, and immigration and the Borderlands.
