In the MEIE program, you’ll have the opportunity to choose coursework from four essential content areas: operations research, applied statistics, design and manufacturing, and engineering management. With a variety of advanced, expertly taught classes in each content area, this dynamic master’s program gives you the opportunity to tailor the degree to your interests.

The Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering degree consists of 30 credits. At least 50% of the coursework must be taken from the Approved IE Department Course List, but you may take up to five electives from engineering disciplines outside the department (or other areas of interest outside the college).

If you’re seeking regular admission to graduate study in Industrial Engineering, you must meet departmental admission requirements in addition to those of the Graduate School, which include:

  • An engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited school
  • Completion of a course in calculus-based probability and statistics (if your degree does not meet the necessary prerequisite)
  • A statement of intent describing your professional goals
  • At least a 3.0 GPA in undergraduate coursework
